Final Tour Update! - August 12, 2008
Hello Friends – Coast to Coast
The last Tour Update I sent out was at the end of June, and we were two months into our summer tour, the exact mid-way point.
It’s hard to believe that we have been on the road since April 25th, and we only have 3 weeks left to go on our 4 month tour… bringing things to an end, back in Oregon after Labor Day.
We have had an amazing time over the past few months, living on the road and playing our music coast to coast. We’ve met so many great people and musicians along the way and have had the chance to catch up with old friends and family too. People have been very supportive of our travels and music, and very generous as well… offering us places to stay after shows and just so much help and hospitality. Thanks again to everyone that donated to our “1 Dollar for Gas Drive” as well.
We’ve received some great Press and Radio throughout the tour too. Reviews, Articles, and Interviews have been posted in publications and websites around the country from Powell River, BC to Wilmington, North Carolina. Check out www.elkemusic.com/press.html to read the stories.
We have played shows in 24 States and 2 Provinces this summer, and we still have 4 more Provinces to go over the next 3 weeks.

Mid-Way Tour Update! - July 1, 2008
JP and I are exactly 2 Months into our Summer Tour, and we have 2 Months left to go... so we are right at our mid-way point.
So far, our music and travels have brought us through BC, WA, OR, CA, NV, UT, CO, WY, MT, ID, and then back to WA and OR. We then took a 1 week break in Portland and hit the road again. We started through OR, ID, UT, CO, NM, to where we currently are in Texas. From here, we are heading to the Southern East Coast and will head North along the seaboard. Once we hit Canada, we will travel back West and our Tour will come to a close Labor Day Weekend. Talk about covering a lot of ground and mileage, right?! We've traveled about 8,000 Miles so far!
Some of the highlights of the Tour have been:
Telluride Bluegrass Festival in CO where we saw some amazing performances up close.
Camping in beautiful places like UT and CO.
Playing some great shows and selling merchandise to our new friends/fans.
Meeting amazing new people everywhere we go, and seeing old friends along the way too!

Elke Tours Canada & US Spring/Summer 2008 - March 29, 2008
Canadian born Singer-Songwriter Elke Robitaille is hitting the road again this summer. Along with husband; bass player JP Downer, the acoustic-duo will travel from coast to coast across the United States and Canada throughout May to early September 2008.
The Elke Robitaille Duo recently completed a 4 month entertainment contract at sea with Princess Cruises on the Diamond Princess, Hawaiian Island Cruise. The Duo gave over 100 performances in the Diamonds' Wheelhouse Bar from November '07 to March '08. After well earning their 'sea-legs', the musicians are ready to get their show back on the 'road'.
The Summer Tour will start in Elke's home town of Powell River, BC at Local Loco's. A tour kick-off show is scheduled for April 25th. From there, Elke and JP will make their way East across the United States and then travel back West across Canada. Shows will be scheduled to take place in approximately 45 States and 9 Provinces. The duo will be taking to the stage at a variety of venues from cafes, pubs, lounges, farmers markets, and street festivals. The duo are no strangers to life on the road. They have already completed one tour of Canada where they played in 5 Provinces and 25 cities. They have also performed extensively on the West Coast from British Columbia down to California, and Elke has brought her solo-acoustic act to Nashville and New York.
The Elke Robitaille Duo look forward to being on the road again, and they hope this 4 month tour will help them gain exposure to a broader audience from coast to coast. They will be promoting Elke's sophomore acoustic album: Naive, as well as her debut album: Doors, and an array of brand new merchandise including t-shirts, tanks and stickers.

Diamond Princess Cruise - Hawaiian Adventure - February 10, 2008
Wow. It's hard to believe that we are almost finished with our 4 month cruise contract on the Diamond Princess. We have been to the Hawaiian Islands 6 times now, and only have 2 more trips left to go.
We have been performing every single night in the Wheelhouse Bar, and occasionally in the Crew Bar as well for Acoustic Night. It has been an amazing experience, both for music and travels.
Unfortunately, I have very limited access to internet on the ship, so I have not been able to post many website updates. However, I have been keeping a Travel Blog so you can find all of our Pictures, Videos, and Stories there.
Hope all is well with everyone. We are finished with the Cruise on March 16th, and then we start preparing right away for our Spring/Summer '08 Tour.
